How to Remove Varnish With Liquid Sandpaper

Liquid Sandpaper offers the abrasive quality of traditional sandpaper without the dry dust and mess of traditional sanding. When you need to remove varnish gently without damaging the surface underneath, Liquid Sandpaper is an ideal selection. Create a blank canvas for a fresh stain or urethane treatment with the Liquid Sandpaper and reduce the cleaning time required after sanding.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the bottle of Liquid Sandpaper upside down, holding it by the neck with one hand. Strike the bottom of the bottle firmly with your palm to free the ball bearing from the bottom of the bottle. Repeat this step until you hear the ball bearing drop inside the bottle.

    • 2

Shake the bottle vigorously for at least one minute. Remove the cap and pour a quarter-sized amount to a clean, dry paper towel or lint-free cloth.

    • 3

Rub the surface of the varnished area with the the Liquid Sandpaper in straight lines to follow the grain of the wood. Work in small areas, applying more Liquid Sandpaper to the cloth or using a new paper towel when necessary.

    • 4

Clean the area with a clean, damp cloth after you are finished with the Liquid Sandpaper. Allow the surface to dry completely before applying a fresh varnish or other treatment.
