How to Replace the Blade on a Craftsman Miter Saw

Miter saws are used to cut boards to fit the needs of your project. Like any saw, the blades become dull with extended use. If the blade on your Craftsman miter saw is not cutting as quickly and cleanly as it used to, it could be time to install a new blade. The straightforward blade-replacement process will have you cutting boards quickly and cleanly again.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the power cord on your Craftsman miter saw and click the saw arm up to the highest position.

    • 2

Remove the blade guard from the saw blade. Loosen and remove the nut holding the blade in place using a 3/8-inch wrench.

    • 3

Grasp both flat sides of the blade with your hands. Carefully pull the blade off of the saw arm and set it aside.

    • 4

Place your replacement miter-saw blade on the saw arm. Tighten it in place with the nut you took off.

    • 5

Secure the blade guard back in its original location. Plug the saw back into power and test to confirm that you installed the blade properly. The replacement blade on your Craftsman miter saw should spin with ease.
