How to Fix a Loose String on Hunter Douglas Blinds

The cords on your Hunter Douglas blinds control the movement of the blind slats to raise or lower the blinds when pulled and can become loose over time and with continuous use. The blinds include a cord stop that attaches to the cords and restricts their movement to ensure a balanced raising or lowering of both sides of the blinds. Once added, the cord stop ensures that the cords do not loosen and prevents tangles that commonly occur with loose cords.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the bottom of the blinds and gently pull out any tangles on the right side of the blinds.

    • 2

Grab both ends of the blinds' cords and pull the cords gently to the left to release the blinds' latch to lower the blinds.

    • 3

Pull open the cord stop and insert one cord into the notch located at the top of the cord stop.

    • 4

Insert the opposite loose cord into the empty top notch on the cord stop.

    • 5

Press the two cord stop pieces together to snap the cord stop together. Once connected, the strings will move together when pulled.
