Instructions

    • 1

Wash a glass canning jar with warm, soapy water and dry it thoroughly. Spray the jar's entire exterior surface with spray adhesive in a well-ventilated area, such as a garage.

    • 2

Wrap one or more white, vintage, lace doilies around the jar, and press them into the adhesive to create a secure hold. Smooth wrinkles in the material with your hands. One options is to use one doily that covers the entire outside surface of the jar from the rim down. Alternatively, use two small doilies or trim a larger doily to fit.

Decorate the jar's rim with either a thin, satin ribbon or small, dried flowers. If you use ribbon, select one in a shabby chic-inspired color, such as light pink or lavender; wrap it around the jar's rim, and tie it into a bow. If you opt for dried flowers, such as lavender or rosebuds, attach them to the jar's rim with hot glue.

Place a pastel-colored votive candle into the decorated jar.
