How to Cover a Pie Crust With Foil

Materials:

- Aluminum foil

- Pie crust

- Scissors

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven according to pie crust package directions.

2. Roll out pie crust on a floured surface.

- Roll the dough out to a 12-inch circle.

3. Transfer dough to pie plate.

- Gently lift dough and place it into a 9-inch pie plate.

- Ease dough into plate without stretching it.

- Trim excess dough around edge of plate, leaving a 1-inch overhang.

4. Fold overhang under.

- Fold overhang under and crimp to form a fluted edge.

5. Cover with foil.

- Cut a piece of aluminum foil large enough to cover the pie crust.

- Place the foil over the pie crust, smooth it out, and crimp it around the edges to seal it.

6. Bake according to pie crust package directions.

- Remove the foil and continue baking the pie according to the recipe or package instructions.
