How to Sew a Kindermat Cover

## Kindermat Cover Tutorial

Kinder mats can be a great way to give your toddler or preschooler a comfortable place to play. They are also used for tummy time and as a place for them to nap. But what if you want to change up the look of your kinder mat? Or maybe you just want to make it more personal for your child? Then you can sew a Kindermat Cover.

Materials:

- 1 yard of fabric (Choose a durable, machine-washable fabric. Cotton or canvas are good choices.)

- 1 package of bias tape (Matching the fabric color)

- Thread

- Scissors

- Sewing machine

- Measuring tape

- Iron

- Pins

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the fabric

- Wash and iron the fabric before you start sewing. This will help to prevent the fabric from shrinking or stretching out of shape after you sew it.

Step 2: Cut out the pieces

- You will need to cut out two pieces of fabric for the cover, each measuring 24 inches by 48 inches.

- Cut four strips of bias tape, each measuring 24 inches long.

Step 3: Sew the bias tape to the edges of the fabric pieces

- Fold the bias tape in half lengthwise and press it.

- Pin the bias tape to the edges of the fabric pieces, right sides together.

- Stitch the bias tape in place, close to the fold.

Step 4: Sew the cover together

- Place the two fabric pieces right sides together.

- Sew the sides of the cover together, using a 1/2-inch seam allowance.

- Leave the top and bottom edges open.

Step 5: Turn the cover right side out

- Carefully turn the cover right side out, using a point turner or other blunt object to help push out the corners.

- Press the cover flat.

Step 6: Topstitch the cover

- Topstitch around the top and bottom edges of the cover, close to the seam.

- This will help to secure the seams and give the cover a finished look.

Step 7: Insert kinder mat into cover

- Take your kinder mat and insert it into the sewn cover.

-Make any adjustments as needed.

Your kinder mat cover is now complete!
