* Knitting needles, size 10 (6 mm)
* Worsted weight yarn, 4 skeins (1,000 yards)
* Tapestry needle
Cast on 120 stitches.
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for 36 rows.
Next Row (Ribbing):
* Knit 2 stitches.
* Purl 2 stitches.
* Repeat across the entire row.
Repeat the ribbing pattern for 4 rows.
Knit Stitch Pattern:
Row 1:
* Knit 1 stitch.
* Purl 1 stitch.
* Repeat across the entire row.
Row 2:
* Knit 1 stitch.
* Slip 1 stitch, purlwise, with yarn in front.
* Repeat across the entire row.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for 24 rows.
Repeat the entire pattern (including ribbing) once.
Cast off all stitches.
Weave in ends. Block blanket to desired size.
* To make a larger or smaller blanket, simply add or subtract stitches in multiples of 10.
* If you are not comfortable with the knit stitch pattern, you can simply knit every stitch on every row.
* To make a thicker blanket, use a heavier weight yarn.
* To make a thinner blanket, use a lighter weight yarn.
