* 1 skein of worsted weight yarn
* Size 8 (5mm) round loom
* Tapestry needle
* Scissors
1. Cast on 48 stitches onto the loom.
2. Knit in the round for 24 rows.
3. Begin decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together, then slipping the next stitch over the 2 knitted stitches. Repeat around the loom.
4. Repeat step 3 until there are only 8 stitches left on the loom.
5. Cut the yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail.
6. Thread the tail through the remaining stitches and pull to close the beret.
7. Weave in any loose ends.
1. To shape the beret, wet it and gently stretch it out into a circular shape.
2. Allow the beret to dry completely before wearing.
* For a slouchier beret, cast on more stitches.
* For a tighter beret, cast on fewer stitches.
* You can also use different types of yarn to create different looks.
* Be sure to weave in your loose ends carefully so they don't come undone.
