- Medium weight yarn (I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in "Charcoal")
- 10mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
Step 1: Make a foundation chain.
To start, make a slip knot and then insert your hook into the loop. Wrap the yarn around the hook and pull through the loop on your hook. Repeat this process as many times as needed to make a foundation chain of the desired length. The length of the foundation chain will determine the width of the blanket.
Step 2: Insert your hook into the second chain from the hook.
Wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through the loop on the hook. You will now have two loops on your hook.
Step 3: Wrap the yarn around the hook again and pull it through both loops on the hook.
This will create a single crochet stitch. Repeat this process for the entire row.
Step 4: Turn the work and repeat Step 3.
Continue to work in rows, turning the work at the end of each row, until the piece is the desired size. As you work the rows, you will start to see a fabric forming. This is called "crocheting in the round."
Step 5: Finish the blanket.
When you are finished with the last row, cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Pull the tail through the loop on your hook to close the blanket. Finally, weave in any loose ends.
Step 6: Enjoy your new blanket!
Your blanket is now complete. You can enjoy it as is, or add embellishments such as a border or fringe.
