Materials Needed:
- Rosary cord or string (approximately 18 inches)
- Crucifix (optional)
- 10 beads (for Hail Mary prayers)
- 1 bead (for Our Father prayer)
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
Instructions:
1. Prepare the cord: Measure the cord to fit around your wrist, leaving about an extra inch for tying the knot. Cut the cord to the desired length.
2. Attach the crucifix (optional): If you are using a crucifix, thread it onto the cord first, leaving enough cord on one end for knotting later.
3. Add the first bead: Slip one bead onto the cord. This bead represents the Our Father prayer.
4. Create a slip knot: Make a small loop with the cord and hold it between your thumb and index finger. Pass the other end of the cord through the loop from the back. Tighten the knot snugly. This knot will hold the first bead in place.
5. Alternate beads and knots: Repeat the following steps for each of the remaining 9 beads:
- Thread a bead onto the cord.
- Make a slip knot after the bead to hold it in place.
6. Tie a final knot: After threading the last bead, tie a final slip knot to secure all the beads in place.
7. Trim the cord: Trim any excess cord, leaving about 1/4 inch of cord after the final knot.
8. Optional embellishments: You can add additional charms or pendants to your bracelet if desired.
Your knotted rosary bracelet is now ready. Wear it as a reminder of your faith and use it to pray the rosary by sliding the beads through your fingers as you recite the prayers.
