- Fabric of your choice (1-2 yards)
- 1/4-inch plywood or foam board (1-2 sheets)
- 1-inch wooden dowels (2 pieces, each 2 feet long)
- 1/2-inch wooden dowels (2 pieces, each 18 inches long)
- 1/4-inch wood screws
- Drill
- Saw
- Fabric scissors
- Hem tape
- Iron
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
1. Cut the plywood or foam board into a square or rectangle. The size of the canopy will depend on the size of your candy cart.
2. Cut the fabric into a square or rectangle that is 6 inches wider and longer than the plywood or foam board.
3. Fold the edges of the fabric under 1 inch and iron them flat. Fold them under again 1 inch and iron them flat.
4. Sew the hems in place.
5. Attach the hem tape to the top edge of the fabric.
6. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise, right sides together. Stitch the two long sides together, using a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
7. Turn the fabric right side out.
8. Slide the 2-foot wooden dowels into the top and bottom hems.
9. Slide the 18-inch wooden dowels into the side hems.
10. Position the canopy on the candy cart and secure it in place with the screws.

- To make the canopy more durable, you can use outdoor fabric or vinyl.
- You can embellish the canopy with trim, bows, or appliqués.
