* 3 pieces of wood (I used 1x12s)
* 3/4-inch wood screws
* Wood glue
* Sandpaper
* Stain (optional)
* Clear coat (optional)
* Saw
* Drill
* Sander
* Measuring tape
* Pencil
1. Cut the wood into the following pieces:
* 2 pieces that are 12 inches long
* 1 piece that is 16 inches long
2. Sand all of the pieces of wood to remove any rough edges.
3. Apply stain to the wood, if desired.
4. Apply clear coat to the wood, if desired.
5. Let the wood dry completely.
6. Assemble the serving tray by attaching the 12-inch pieces of wood to the 16-inch piece of wood with wood screws. Make sure that the screws are countersunk so that they do not stick out.
7. Use wood glue to secure the joints.
8. Clamp the serving tray together until the glue has dried.
9. Enjoy your rustic 3-tier serving tray!
* You can use any type of wood for this project. I used pine because it is inexpensive and easy to work with.
* Be sure to sand the wood thoroughly to remove any rough edges. This will help to prevent the serving tray from splintering.
* If you are using stain, be sure to apply it evenly. You can use a rag or a brush to apply the stain.
* If you are using clear coat, be sure to apply it evenly. You can use a spray can or a brush to apply the clear coat.
* Let the wood dry completely before assembling the serving tray. This will help to prevent the wood from warping.
