How to Make a Salt & Oil Candle

### Materials

* Coarse salt (sea salt or kosher salt)

* Water

* Container for mixing (a large bowl or pot)

* Spoon for stirring

* Mold for shaping the salt (optional)

* Baking sheet lined with parchment paper (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the salt. If using coarse salt, grind it in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle until it is a fine powder.

2. Measure out the salt and water. The ratio of salt to water will depend on the desired consistency of the dough. For a firm dough, use 2 parts salt to 1 part water. For a softer dough, use equal parts salt and water.

3. Mix the salt and water together. Stir until the mixture is well combined and forms a dough.

4. Shape the salt. If desired, shape the salt into desired shapes using a mold or by hand.

5. Place the salt on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This will help to prevent the salt from sticking to the surface.

6. Let the salt dry completely. This may take several days, depending on the humidity in your environment.

7. Once the salt is dry, store it in an airtight container. This will help to keep the salt fresh and prevent it from absorbing moisture.

Tips

* To make colored salt, add food coloring to the water before mixing it with the salt.

* To make scented salt, add essential oils or dried herbs to the salt dough before shaping it.

* Salt dough can be used to make a variety of decorative items, such as ornaments, jewelry, and sculptures.

* Be creative and experiment with different techniques to make your own unique salt dough creations!
