How to Find out the Age of a Roper Refrigerator

Roper is a low-cost appliance company owned by Whirlpool. Although the company once produced a wide range of consumer appliances, it now limits its product line to washing machines, dryers and ranges. All Roper appliances, including Roper refrigerators, are labeled with a model number and serial number. The model number is helpful when purchasing replacement components for the appliance, while the serial number tells you a great deal about the appliance's history, including where and when it was manufactured.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the serial number on your Roper refrigerator. The serial number is imprinted or stamped on a sticker or metal plate found on the top of the door jamb, on the side of the refrigerator's inner wall or on the kick panel on the bottom of the refrigerator.

Visit the Appliance411 "Date Code Search" website.

    • 3

Select "Roper" from the "Brand Type" drop-down menu, and select "Refrigerator" from the "Appliance Type" menu. Enter your refrigerator's model and serial numbers in the boxes provided, and click "Date It" to determine when the refrigerator was manufactured.

Subtract the manufacture date from today's date to determine the age of the refrigerator.
