How to Bake Cakes in a Cooking Range Oven

Preparing Your Oven:

1. Preheat Your Oven:

Preheat your cooking range oven to the temperature specified in your recipe. This is crucial for the cake's proper baking and ensures even cooking throughout.

2. Use Baking Rack:

Place the oven rack in the center position. This helps ensure even heat distribution around the cake pan.

Preparing Your Cake Pan:

1. Greasing and Flouring:

Generously grease the cake pan with butter or oil. Then, dust the pan with flour, tapping out excess. This helps prevent sticking and facilitates the cake's easy release after baking.

2. Parchment Paper (optional):

For extra insurance against sticking, you can place a parchment paper round in the bottom of the prepared cake pan before adding the batter.

Baking the Cake:

1. Pour the Batter:

Pour the prepared cake batter into the greased and floured pan. Ensure that the batter fills about two-thirds of the pan's height, leaving room for rising during baking.

2. Bake:

Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake according to the time indicated in your recipe. Avoid opening the oven frequently during the initial baking period, as this can disrupt the cake's rising process.

3. Check for Doneness:

To test if the cake is done, insert a toothpick into its center. If it comes out clean without raw batter attached, your cake is ready.

Cooling and Serving:

1. Cool Completely:

Let the cake cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before carefully transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. This prevents the cake from collapsing due to sudden temperature changes.

2. Frost and Decorate:

Once the cake has completely cooled, you can frost and decorate it according to your preference. Use your creativity to make it visually appealing and delicious!
