How to Use a Muffin Pan Cook Hard Boiled Eggs

Using a muffin pan to cook hard boiled eggs is an alternative method that results in easy-to-peel and consistently cooked eggs. Here are the steps to follow:

Preparation:

1. Gather your materials:

* Muffin pan

* Eggs

* Water

Boiling Eggs in the Muffin Pan:

1. Place the eggs in the cups of the muffin pan, one egg per cup.

2. Fill a large pot or saucepan with enough water to cover the muffin pan by about 1 inch.

3. Place the muffin pan inside the pot, ensuring the water level does not go over the muffin pan's rim.

4. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.

Cooking the Eggs:

5. Cook the eggs on low heat for 12-15 minutes, depending on the desired doneness. For soft-boiled eggs, cook for a shorter time (8-10 minutes), and for firmer hard-boiled eggs, cook for a longer time (over 15 minutes).

Cooling and Peeling the Eggs:

6. Once the eggs are cooked, carefully remove the muffin pan from the hot water.

7. Transfer the eggs to a bowl filled with cold water. Let them cool completely in the water for at least 5 minutes.

8. After the eggs have cooled, remove them from the water and gently tap each egg on a countertop or hard surface to crack the shells.

9. Peel the eggs starting from the wide end, where there is an air pocket. Roll the egg between your palms while gently peeling to loosen and remove the shell.

Enjoy your Hard-Boiled Eggs:

10. Your hard-boiled eggs are ready to be enjoyed! Serve them whole or use them in various dishes and recipes.

Tips:

* Adding a little salt to the water can help in preventing the eggs from cracking during boiling.

* If you prefer not to use a muffin pan, you can also gently place the eggs in a single layer in a metal steamer basket or colander set inside the boiling water.

* Be careful when handling hot water and the pan to avoid burns.
