How to Fix a Door Switch on a Whirlpool Dryer

The Whirlpool dryer has a door switch that shuts the machine off should the door be opened in the middle of a cycle. A faulty switch may fail to shut the dryer off or cause it not to operate at all. A new door switch may be all you need to fix the problem. To replace the switch, you need to gain access to the top of the dryer by removing the top panel.
