Shut off all burners on the gas stove as well as the oven, if it has been in use, and wait for the appliance to cool.
Turn the lever in the gas valve behind the stove 90 degrees clockwise to shut off the fuel. Disconnect the stove's electrical plug from the wall outlet. Even though it is a gas-powered appliance, your stove uses an electrical connection to power the igniter module.
Remove the screws holding the access plate to the back of the stove at the point where the gas line enters the appliance. Take off the metal plate to locate the igniter module and wiring harness inside the stove. The silicon carbide igniter tip points directly at the gas valve. The igniter wires extend in the opposite direction.
Grip the plug containing the two igniter wires and pull straight back to release the plug from the power socket inside the stove.
Loosen the two screws in the curved bracket holding the center of the igniter in position. Pull the igniter out of the bracket in the direction away from the gas valve and toward the power socket. Remove the part from the stove.
Hold the new part by the center, not the tip, and insert it into the bracket. Tighten the two screws to hold the part in position.
Insert the plug on the end of the igniter wires into the power socket in the stove. Press firmly to seat the plug.
Reattach the access plate with the screws.
Plug in the stove's power cord.
Turn the lever on the gas valve 90 degrees counterclockwise.
