Unplug the washer power cord from the wall outlet.
Use a screwdriver to take out the screws on the left and right sides of the washing machine's control panel.
Insert the flat edge of a putty knife into the crevice on each side of the control panel to disengage the retainer clip on each side and pry up the panel from the front.
Tip the control panel backward to access the pressure switch, which is on the left when viewed from the front of the appliance.
Pull the clear, flexible hose off the port on the switch. Place a piece of duct tape across the hose and tape it securely to the top of the washer. This prevents the hose from falling into the back of the appliance where you will have to fish it out.
Remove the screws holding the pressure switch to the inside of the control panel. Pull the switch gently off the metal spindle.
Turn the switch around to unplug the two wires connected to the contacts on the back. Place a piece of tape on each wire and stick it to the inside top of the appliance so the wires do not drop inside the cabinet.
Plug in the two wires to their corresponding contacts on the new switch. You can now remove the piece of tape from each wire.
Secure the new pressure switch to the metal spindle and lock in place with the mounting screws removed in Step 6.
Remove the duct tape from the clear air hose and push the open end of the hose onto the port on the new switch.
Raise the control panel to the upright position and press downward to engage the two clips that hold it to the top of the washer.
Secure the control panel by tightening the screws in the left and right sides.
Reconnect the washer's power cord to the wall outlet.
