ARS Cutting Tools

Established in 1876, the ARS Corporation of Japan has continually striven to be creative and innovative in producing quality products. The business started with the production of a knife for cutting tobacco and has since grown to be one of the largest producers of cutting tools. Combining attention to detail, quality steel and ergonomically designed products, the company now produces folding saws, hedge shears, long reach pruners, and various other tools for the gardening industry.
  1. Folding Saw

    • The ARS folding saw is small, compact and portable and is useful for general pruning of small plants in orchards, vineyards and trees services. The blade is rust-resistant and made of chrome-plated metal. Each tapered tooth on the blade is 3 1/2 inches long and is honed to knife-edge sharpness, enabling you to make a clean, smooth cut with little effort. The blade folds into the handle and is locked in place with a metal clasp. The knife is carried in a sheath that can be attached to your belt.

    Telescopic Pruner

    • The telescopic pruner that you choose should be one that can extend to the length you require. This type of pruner is ideal for pruning hard-to-reach tall twigs, branches and fruit trees. The lightweight aluminum arm of the pruner can extend 4-7 feet in length and its tilt-adjustable head can tilt to a 30-degree angle, allowing you to adjust the head with the position of the branch you are cutting. The rotating handle enables you to maneuver yourself around trees and bushes. Made of high-carbon steel, the rust and corrosion-resistant blade can saw through branches that are 1/2 inch in diameter. Lock the handle catch when adjusting the length of the pruner.

    Hedge Shears

    • Scissors with blades longer than 6 inches are called shears and hedge shears are specialized scissors used by home and professional gardeners. Unlike scissors, there are no holes for your fingers. Instead, there are two long plastic curved handles that provide easy gripping and the chrome-plated or high-carbon-steel blades that resemble the nose of scissors, are ideal for manicuring your hedges and shaping topiaries. You can replace the blades by unscrewing them from the handles.
