How to Connect a Faucet to a Sprinkler Pipe

Connecting a sprinkler pipe to your outdoor faucet for lawn irrigation requires an intermediate length of garden hose as well as a backflow preventer. The latter is a device that stops water from flowing backward from the sprinkler pipe when the faucet is shut off. All materials are available at garden centers and hardware stores. The faucet connects to the sprinkler pipe in a few minutes using a pair of pliers.
