How to Make a Lawn Mower Higher Off the Ground

### Step 1: Park your lawn mower on a level surface. Engage the parking brake.

Step 2: Determine how much higher you need to raise the lawn mower. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the mower deck. Then, decide how many inches you need to add.

Step 3: Choose the right method for raising your lawn mower. There are three main ways to do this:

- Adjust the cutting deck. Most lawn mowers have a lever that allows you to adjust the cutting deck height. To raise the cutting deck, move the lever up.

- Use a spacer kit. A spacer kit is a set of washers or blocks that can be placed between the lawn mower deck and the frame. This is a good option if you need to raise the mower by more than a few inches.

- Replace the lawn mower wheels. If your lawn mower has small wheels, you can replace them with larger wheels to raise the mower.

Step 4: Raise the lawn mower.

- To adjust the cutting deck, simply move the lever up until you reach the desired height.

- To use a spacer kit, place the washers or blocks between the lawn mower deck and the frame. Be sure to evenly distribute the spacers so that the deck is level.

- To replace the lawn mower wheels, remove the lug nuts holding the wheels in place and then remove the wheels. Install the new wheels and then replace the lug nuts.

Step 5: Test the lawn mower. Start the lawn mower and move it around to make sure that it is operating correctly. Check to ensure that the cutting deck is level and that the mower is not scalping the grass.
