How to Make Clay Garden Markers

### Materials

* Air-dry clay

* Rolling pin

* Cookie cutters or other shapes

* Skewer or toothpick

* Paint (optional)

* Clear sealer (optional)

Instructions

1. Roll out the clay to about 1/4-inch thickness.

2. Use cookie cutters or other shapes to cut out the markers.

3. Use a skewer or toothpick to make a hole at the top of each marker.

4. Allow the markers to dry completely, according to the manufacturer's instructions.

5. Once dry, you can paint the markers if desired.

6. Seal the markers with a clear sealer to protect them from the elements.

Tips

* To prevent the markers from cracking, roll out the clay evenly and avoid overworking it.

* If you don't have cookie cutters, you can use other objects to cut out the markers, such as a knife or a pair of scissors.

* Be creative with your shapes! You can make markers in any shape you like, such as flowers, animals, or stars.

* Clay garden markers make a great gift for gardeners of all ages.
