Teak Umbrella Pulley Instructions

Teak makes a very attractive and long lasting wood for outdoor furniture. Teak fabric umbrellas have become a popular outdoor accessory to provide shade in sunny gardens. You can get teak umbrellas at home and outdoor stores and online. When you get your umbrella home, you can have it up and functioning in a couple of minutes. The pulley system allows you to open and close the umbrella with ease and comes preassembled.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove your umbrella from the packaging and lay all the pieces out on a work surface.

    • 2

Screw on the finial (decorative tip) of the umbrella. If you look at the top outside of the canopy, you will see a hole where the finial fits in. The canopy assembly is complete.

    • 3

Place the base in your garden or on your deck where you want the umbrella.

    • 4

Screw the bottom pole into the umbrella pole and place the bottom pole into the base.

    • 5

Grasp the runner hub (where all the ribs of the canopy are joined) with one hand while holding the pole securely with the other. Push the runner hub upwards until the pulley system opens the canopy. Some umbrellas will automatically click into place while others have a small stick on a piece of string connected to the runner hub that must be placed into a hole on the pole just beneath the position you wish the umbrella to be. The stick will prevent the canopy from dropping down.
