Instructions

    • 1

Choose a well ventilated area in which to paint your furniture. Keep in mind that the furniture will have to sit undisturbed for hours at a time while the paint dries so it is important to choose an area that does not have heavy traffic. Lay down newspaper underneath the furniture to protect your flooring.

    • 2

Sand the entire piece of furniture with a fine-grit sandpaper. Sanding will remove any existing paint or imperfections on the furniture. Wipe away sawdust with a soft cloth. You may need to sand the furniture several times before it is smooth enough to paint.

    • 3

Apply a water-based primer to the furniture using a paintbrush. Work from the top of the furniture to the bottom, applying an even coat. Allow the primer to dry for at least 3 hours, then apply a second coat. Let dry for another 3 hours.

    • 4

Apply two coats of turquoise paint to the furniture and allow to dry for at least 24 hours. Wait at least 1 hour between coats.

    • 5

Apply a clear varnish to the furniture to seal and protect the paint. Allow the varnish to dry overnight before using the furniture.
