How to Replace the Lock on an FR322

Securing with valuable documents and personal objects can be tricky. Sometimes you lock up your valuables in your desk or drawers to maintain easy access during work hours. The FR322 is a standard, rotating desk lock. However, if you damage the FR322, it has been discontinued and a new solution must be found to open the lock. Contact the manufacturer, Steelcase, to resolve the situation.

      Examine the piece of FR322 lock. Measure the length of the lock and the length of the open space where the lock is inserted.

      Visit the a lock vendor website to find a new lock core that will fit in your piece of furniture. Purchase the appropriate lock core and ship to your location.

      Remove the current damaged or non-functioning lock. To do so, place the drill bit into the each screw and spin counterclockwise to remove. Extract the old lock and dispose.

      Replace the old lock with the new core by inserting it into the open slot. Drill the screws clockwise back into place. Check to see if the lock works properly.
