Instructions

    • 1

Choose enough fabric to wrap around the entire back of a folding chair or a wooden chair with a slatted back. This means there is a gap between the seat of the chair and the bottom of the chair back.

    • 2

Measure a piece of 1-inch thick foam the size of the front and the back of the chair back and cut with scissors.

    • 3

Spray the front and back of the chair back with a spray adhesive and quickly move to Step 4.

    • 4

Wrap the foam tightly around the chair back starting under the bottom rail, continuing up over the top rail and then back again to the bottom rail. Staple in place.

    • 5

Attach the fabric to the chair back by stapling the fabric underneath the bottom rail at the corners. Then tightly wrap the fabric up over the top rail and back down to the bottom rail again. Staple on the top rail at each end.

    • 6

Staple the fabric up and down the edges of the chair back, keeping as close to the edges as possible. The staples will later be covered with cording.

    • 7

Attach double welt cord to the left corner of the bottom rail with a hot glue gun and continue to wrap the cord around the edge, over the top rail and back down to the bottom rail again to cover any exposed staples. Then trim the cord. Repeat the process for the right edge of the chair back.

      Let the glue dry.
