How to Make a Desk Chair Higher

Most desk or office chairs come with an adjustable mechanism that works the same as a hydraulic jack. The mechanism allows the user to customize the height of the chair to instantly ensure the chair's seat rests at a comfortable height. The process for adjusting the chair is relatively straightforward and only takes a few seconds to complete.

Instructions

    • 1

Inspect the two levers that protrude from under the desk chair's seat. One lever adjusts the tilting mechanism and the other adjusts the height of the chair. Use the second lever to raise the desk chair's height.

    • 2

Pull the second lever up to make the desk chair higher.

    • 3

Lower the desk chair by sitting upright on the seat with feet flat on the floor and the spine against the desk chair's back rest. Pull the second lever down to lower the seat. Stop when the desk chair is at a comfortable position. This position should allow the individual's legs to fit under the desk.
