How to Attach a Bedskirt With No Box Spring

With Elastic

1. Measure the height and width of your mattress.

2. Cut a piece of elastic that is the same length as the width of your mattress plus 2 inches.

3. Fold the elastic in half and sew the ends together to create a loop.

4. Place the loop of elastic around the top of your mattress, with the seam facing down.

5. Pull the elastic tight and tuck it under the mattress at the corners.

6. Cut a piece of fabric that is the same size as your mattress plus 2 inches on all sides.

7. Fold the edges of the fabric under 1 inch and press.

8. Place the fabric over the mattress, with the folded edges facing down.

9. Tuck the fabric under the mattress at the corners.

With Fabric Ties

1. Measure the height and width of your mattress.

2. Cut four pieces of fabric that are 12 inches long by 2 inches wide.

3. Fold each piece of fabric in half lengthwise and press.

4. Sew a gathering stitch along the long edge of each piece of fabric, 1/4 inch from the edge.

5. Pull the gathering stitches to gather the fabric.

6. Tie a knot in each piece of fabric, 6 inches from the top.

7. Place the ties around the corners of your mattress, with the knots facing down.

8. Tuck the ends of the ties under the mattress.

9. Cut a piece of fabric that is the same size as your mattress plus 2 inches on all sides.

10. Fold the edges of the fabric under 1 inch and press.

11. Place the fabric over the mattress, with the folded edges facing down.

12. Tuck the fabric under the mattress at the corners.
