How to Move Inground Sprinkler Heads

Moving inground sprinkler heads can be done by following these steps:

1. Locate the sprinkler head. Find the sprinkler head that you need to move. It will be located in the ground, usually in the middle of the lawn or garden area.

2. Dig up the sprinkler head. Use a shovel to dig up the soil around the sprinkler head. Be careful not to damage the sprinkler head or its pipes.

3. Disconnect the sprinkler head. Once the sprinkler head is exposed, disconnect it from the water pipe. There may be a union or other type of connection that needs to be loosened.

4. Move the sprinkler head. Once the sprinkler head is disconnected, you can move it to its new location. Make sure that the new location is level and has enough space for the sprinkler head to rotate properly.

5. Reconnect the sprinkler head. Once the sprinkler head is in its new location, reconnect it to the water pipe. Tighten the union or other type of connection securely.

6. Turn on the water. Turn on the water supply to the sprinkler system. Check to make sure that the sprinkler head is working properly.

Here are some additional tips for moving inground sprinkler heads:

* If the sprinkler head is located in a concrete slab, you may need to use a hammer and chisel to break up the concrete.

* Be careful not to damage the sprinkler head or its pipes when digging up the soil.

* Make sure that the new location is level and has enough space for the sprinkler head to rotate properly.

* Tighten the union or other type of connection securely when reconnecting the sprinkler head.

* Check to make sure that the sprinkler head is working properly after turning on the water.
