How to Cook Asparagus in a Steamer

Ingredients:

- Asparagus spears, trimmed

- Water

Instructions:

1. Fill the bottom of a steamer with water and bring it to a boil.

2. Place the asparagus spears in a steamer basket and place the basket in the steamer.

3. Cover the steamer and steam the asparagus for 3-5 minutes, or until tender but still crisp.

4. Remove the asparagus from the steamer and serve immediately.

Tips:

- To trim asparagus, simply snap off the woody ends of the spears.

- You can also steam asparagus in a microwave. To do this, place the asparagus spears in a microwave-safe dish with a little water and cover the dish with plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, or until tender but still crisp.

- Steamed asparagus is a healthy and delicious side dish that can be enjoyed with a variety of meals. It is also a good source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
