How to Infuse Your Olive Oil

Step 1: Gather your ingredients

- Olive oil

- Flavouring ingredients (e.g. herbs, spices, citrus peels, mushrooms).

- A clean, airtight glass jar or bottle with a lid.

Step 2: Prepare your flavouring ingredients

- Wash and dry your flavouring ingredients.

- Chop or crush the ingredients to release the flavour.

- If using herbs or spices, toast them gently in a pan to enhance their flavour.

Step 3: Combine the ingredients

- Add the olive oil to the jar or bottle.

- Add the flavouring ingredients.

Step 4: Seal the jar

- Close the jar or bottle tightly to prevent air from entering.

Step 5: Infuse the oil

- Store the jar or bottle in a cool, dark place for at least a week, shaking it occasionally to distribute the flavours evenly.

- The longer the oil infuses, the stronger the flavours will become.

Step 6: Strain and store the oil

- After infusing, strain the oil through a cheesecloth or coffee filter to remove any solids.

- Transfer the oil to a clean, airtight container.

- Store the infused olive oil in a cool and dark place.
