How to Bake Acorn Squash

Acorn squash is a delicious and versatile winter squash that can be used in a variety of dishes. One simple way to enjoy acorn squash is to bake it. Here's how:

Ingredients:

- 1 acorn squash

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Optional toppings: butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, or maple syrup

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

2. Wash and dry the acorn squash.

3. Cut the squash in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and pulp.

4. Drizzle the flesh of the squash halves with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

5. Place the squash halves cut-side up on a baking sheet.

6. Bake the squash for 30-45 minutes, or until tender.

7. (Optional) Remove the squash from the oven and add desired toppings such as butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, or maple syrup.

8. Return the squash to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the toppings are melted and bubbly.

9. Let the squash cool for a few minutes before serving.
