How to Make Cookie Trays

### Materials

* Wood (1x6 pine boards or plywood)

* Miter saw

* Drill

* Wood screws

* Sander

* Stain or paint (optional)

* Parchment paper

Instructions

1. Cut the wood into the desired size for your cookie trays. If you are using 1x6 pine boards, you can cut them to 12 inches long. If you are using plywood, you can cut it to any size you want.

2. Sand the edges of the wood to smooth them out.

3. Drill holes in the wood for the wood screws. The holes should be about 1/2 inch deep and 1 inch apart.

4. Attach the wood pieces together with the wood screws. Make sure that the screws are flush with the surface of the wood.

5. Sand the entire cookie tray to smooth out any rough edges.

6. If desired, stain or paint the cookie tray. Allow the stain or paint to dry completely before using the cookie tray.

7. Place a sheet of parchment paper on the cookie tray before baking cookies. This will help to prevent the cookies from sticking to the tray.

Tips

* You can use any type of wood for your cookie trays, but pine is a good choice because it is inexpensive and easy to work with.

* If you don't have a miter saw, you can also use a circular saw to cut the wood.

* Be sure to sand the edges of the wood thoroughly to prevent splinters.

* You can also add handles to your cookie trays for easy carrying.

* Cookie trays make great gifts for friends and family.
