Ingredients:
- Clams, cleaned and debearded
- White wine
- Garlic, minced
- Shallot, minced
- Butter
- Italian seasoning
- Black pepper
- Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a large pot or steamer, add about an inch of white wine.
2. Add the garlic, shallot, butter, Italian seasoning, and black pepper to the pot.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the shallots are softened.
4. Add the clams to the pot and cover. Cook for 5-10 minutes, or until the clams are opened.
5. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Tips:
- Make sure to clean the clams thoroughly before cooking.
- If you don't have a steamer, you can use a colander or metal sieve set over a pot of boiling water.
- Be careful not to overcook the clams, as they can become tough.
- Serve steamed clams with crusty bread or crackers for dipping in the flavorful broth.
