How to Make Strawberry Infused Gin

### Ingredients

* 1 bottle (750ml) of gin

* 1 pint of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

* 1 cup of sugar

* 1/2 cup of water

Instructions

1. In a large saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to dissolve the sugar.

2. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the strawberries have softened and released their juices.

3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let cool completely.

4. Strain the strawberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl. Discard the solids.

5. Add the gin to the strawberry syrup and stir to combine.

6. Transfer the gin to a clean bottle and seal tightly.

7. Store the gin in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks before drinking.

Tips

* For a sweeter gin, add more sugar to the strawberry mixture.

* For a tarter gin, add less sugar to the strawberry mixture.

* You can use any type of gin you like for this recipe. However, a London dry gin or a gin with a high juniper content will work best.

* Be sure to use fresh strawberries for this recipe. Frozen strawberries will not produce as much flavor.

* If you don't have a fine-mesh sieve, you can also strain the strawberry mixture through a cheesecloth-lined colander.

* Strawberry infused gin makes a great gift. It's perfect for parties, holidays, or any special occasion.
