How to Dye Eggs Purple With Food Coloring

### Materials

* White eggs

* Purple food coloring

* Water

* Vinegar

* Spoon

* Cup

* Pot

Instructions

1. Fill the pot partway with water.

2. Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to the water.

3. Boil the water. Ensure that the water is simmering rather than boiling vigorously.

4. Turn off the heat.

5. Add 10-15 drops of purple food coloring to the water. Use more food coloring for darker purple eggs. Stir the water gently to mix in the food coloring.

6. Use the spoon to add hot eggs gently to the water.

7. Let the eggs sit in the water for 5-10 minutes. The longer the eggs sit in the water, the darker they will become.

8. Remove the eggs from the water and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to dry.

9. Admire your beautiful purple-dyed eggs!
