- Two pool ladders
- Measuring tape
- Level
- Pencil
- Drill
- 1/2-inch drill bit
- 3/8-inch drill bit
- 4 concrete anchors
- Hammer
Instructions:
Step 1: Measure and mark position of the ladder.
- Measure the width of your pool and divide it in half.
- Mark the location on the deck where you will install the first ladder and the other one opposite the first.
- Make sure to leave enough room for people to walk around the ladder.
- Ensure the ladder is at least 3 feet (1 m) from any electrical outlets or light fixtures.
Step 2: Drill the holes.
- Use the drill to drill 4 holes in the deck, using a 1/2-inch bit, one in each corner of the ladder's base.
- Use a 3/8-inch drill bit to make smaller pilot holes for the concrete anchors.
Step 3: Insert the concrete anchors.
- Insert a concrete anchor into each pilot hole.
- Use a hammer to tap the anchors in until they are flush with the deck.
Step 4: Attach the ladder.
- Position the ladder on the deck so that the holes align with the concrete anchors.
- Insert a bolt through each hole and tighten it with a wrench until the ladder is secure.
Step 5: Install the second ladder.
- Repeat steps one through four to install the second ladder on the opposite side of the pool.
Tips:
- Use stainless steel ladders to prevent rust.
- Check the ladder for proper fit once installed.
- Ensure the ladder is securely attached to the deck to prevent accidents.
