How to Get Grease Stains Out of Microsuede Sofas

The soft, faux suede surface of a microsuede sofa provides a welcome place to park yourself at the end of a long day. Similar to the real thing, microsuede eventually absorbs grease stains. The advantage with microsuede is that the material buys you a little more time to gather supplies before the stain soaks in. Whether potato chips or your dog's oily fur has caused the stain, you can get the grease stain out of your microsuede sofa before it has the chance to attract other dirt and debris.

Paper towels
Baby powder
Hand vacuum
Dry-cleaning solvent
Clean cloths

  Disposable paper towels are convenient for stain removal.
  
  Lay a paper towel over the grease stain on your microsuede sofa. Allow the paper towel to wick up excess grease from the surface. Discard soiled towels and repeat this step to remove as much greasy substance as possible.

  Cover the remaining grease stain on your microsuede sofa with a generous amount of baby powder. Ensure the entire stain is covered completely. Leave the baby powder on the surface of your sofa for one hour to absorb grease.

  Remove the baby powder with a hand vacuum.

  Pour dry-cleaning solvent onto a clean cloth until it's damp. Sponge the microsuede to remove any last traces of grease residue. Move to a clean portion of the cloth as the stain is lifted.

  Press a dry cleaning cloth into the microsuede to remove excess moisture. Allow your sofa to air-dry completely.

  A natural bristle brush has soft bristles that aren't harsh on microsuede.
  
  Fluff and blend the nap of the microsuede by brushing it with a soft brush once it's fully dry.
