How to Get Rid of Blueberry Stains From Concrete

Delicious, healthy blueberries are notorious for creating difficult-to-remove stains. The purple-blue pigment of the berries has contributed toward many stains on clothing, upholstery and carpet. Despite the sturdiness of your concrete surface, the naturally porous stone is also susceptible to blueberry stains. To get rid of blueberry stains on your concrete surface, you must get the stain off the surface and draw out any juice that's been absorbed.

Instructions

    • 1

Pick up blueberries off the concrete surface with a paper towel. Discard them in the trash.

    • 2

Pour 1/2 cup of 12 percent hydrogen peroxide into a bucket. Add 5 drops of ammonia. Stir the solution with a paint stirrer.

    • 3
Gloves prevent your skin from being dried out by ammonia.

Put on rubber gloves to protect your hands from the ammonia solution. Wet a scrub brush with the peroxide and ammonia solution.

    • 4

Scrub the concrete surface to remove the blueberry stains. Rinse the scrub brush as needed. Wet the brush with the solution and continue to scrub.

    • 5
Flour and ammonia mixture draw blueberry stains out as it dries.

Sprinkle white flour over the concrete to cover the blueberry stains. Allow the flour to soak up the ammonia solution before drying on the surface.

    • 6

Remove the dried paste from the concrete with the scrub brush. Pour water over the concrete to rinse it. Allow the concrete to air-dry.
