Removing Glue Stain From Marble

Marble is a strong material that can stain if glue gets on it. Luckily, marble isn’t sensitive to acetone, which can easily remove and loosen the glue’s hold on the marble. Never use any coarse abrasives to remove the stain because abrasives can easily scratch the surface. Use a gentle method to remove the glue first, and then a harsher one if the first doesn’t work completely.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix 3 drops liquid dish soap with 1 cup lukewarm water. Mix until the water is sudsy.

    • 2

Dip a toothbrush into the soapy water, and scrub the glue stain with the toothbrush. If the glue is water soluble, scrubbing with the toothbrush might remove the glue completely.

    • 3

Wipe the area with a cloth.

    • 4

If the toothbrush didn't remove all the glue, dab acetone directly on the glue. This will be necessary if the glue is epoxy or if it is very strong and durable.

Rinse the marble surface immediately to remove any traces of liquid dish soap or acetone. Wipe the area dry to prevent water marks from developing.
