How to Remove Orange Juice Stain From Marble

Marble surfaces add a luxurious touch to any home. From tile to countertops and showers, marble has been used as a building material for centuries. The smooth, porous surface of this natural stone requires special care and maintenance to avoid stains, etching and scratches. Spilled food or drinks can seep into the marble and leave stains behind. Remove orange juice stains with cosmetic-grade peroxide. For very tough stains, a peroxide poultice can draw the stain out of the marble as it dries.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply 12 percent hydrogen peroxide directly to the orange juice stain.

    • 2

Sprinkle the stain with three or four drops of ammonia.

    • 3

Wipe the marble with a soft, damp cloth when the bubbling stops. If the stain remains, make a poultice.

    • 4

Mix hydrogen peroxide with enough baking soda to make a thick paste. Apply a thick layer of paste to the orange juice stain and cover it with plastic wrap. Tape the plastic to the marble and allow it to sit for 24 hours or until the poultice dries.

Remove the plastic wrap and dried poultice. Wipe the marble with a clean, wet cloth and dry it immediately.
