How to Remove Car Paint From Clothes

Step 1: Blot up the paint as soon as possible.

Don't rub it, as this will only spread it around. Instead, use a clean cloth or paper towel to blot up as much of the paint as you can.

Step 2: Apply a solvent to the paint.

There are several solvents that you can use to remove car paint, including:

* Acetone

* Rubbing alcohol

* Turpentine

* Goo Gone

Apply a small amount of the solvent to a clean cloth and then blot it onto the paint stain. Be careful not to use too much solvent, as this can damage the fabric.

Step 3: Rinse the fabric with water.

Once you've removed as much of the paint as possible with the solvent, rinse the fabric with water. Be sure to rinse it thoroughly, as any residual solvent could damage the fabric.

Step 4: Wash the fabric in hot water.

Wash the fabric in the hottest water that it can tolerate. This will help to remove any remaining paint or solvent.

Step 5: Dry the fabric.

Dry the fabric in the dryer or by hanging it to air dry.

Tips:

* If the paint stain is old, it may be more difficult to remove. You may need to try several different solvents before you find one that works.

* Test the solvent on a small area of the fabric before you use it on the entire stain. This will help to ensure that the solvent doesn't damage the fabric.

* Be sure to rinse the fabric thoroughly after using any solvents.

* If you're not able to remove the paint stain yourself, you may need to take it to a professional dry cleaner.
