How to Remove Creases From Cross-Stitch Fabric

1. Steam ironing:

- Set your iron to the hottest setting that is safe for the fabric.

- Place a barrier such as a thin towel or press cloth between the iron and the cross-stitch fabric.

- Gently press the iron over the fabric, moving it in the direction of the grain.

- Lift the iron and place it back down in a different spot to avoid flattening the stitches.

- Continue ironing until the fabric is smooth.

2. Using moisture and weight:

- Place the cross-stitch fabric on a flat surface, such as an ironing board.

- Spray the fabric lightly with water until it is evenly damp.

- Cover the fabric with a clean, dry cloth or paper towels.

- Place heavy books or other objects on top of the fabric to apply even pressure.

- Leave the fabric to sit for several hours or overnight.

- Remove the weights and cloth and let the fabric dry completely before moving it.

3. Hair dryer method:

- Set your hair dryer to the lowest heat setting.

- Hold the hair dryer about 6-8 inches away from the fabric and move it back and forth in a sweeping motion.

- As the fabric warms up, the creases should begin to disappear.

- Continue heating and smoothing until the creases are gone.

4. Rolling method:

- Spread the cross-stitch on a flat surface

- Roll the fabric tightly onto a cardboard tube or rolling pin.

- Secure the rolled fabric with rubber bands.

- Leave the fabric rolled up for several hours or overnight.

- Unroll the fabric and check if the creases are gone.

5. Freezing method:

- Place the cross-stitch in a plastic bag and seal the bag to create an airtight container.

- Place the bag of cross-stitch in the freezer and leave it overnight or for several hours.

- Once frozen, remove the cross-stitch from the freezer and let it thaw while still in the bag.

- Take out the cross-stitch from the bag and smooth it out.
