* Pipe cutter or hacksaw
* Reamer
* Plumber's putty
* Pipe joint compound
* Slip joint pliers
* Adjustable wrench
* Tape measure
* Level
* Drain pipe
* P-trap
* Toilet flange (if applicable)
1. Measure the distance from the stub out to the desired location of the drain pipe.
2. Cut the drain pipe to the desired length using a pipe cutter or hacksaw.
3. Ream the inside of the cut pipe to remove any burrs.
1. Apply plumber's putty to the inside of the drain pipe coupling.
2. Slide the drain pipe into the coupling until it is snug against the stub out.
3. Tighten the coupling with slip joint pliers or an adjustable wrench.
1. Place the P-trap under the drain pipe.
2. Connect the P-trap to the drain pipe and the sink drain using slip joint nuts and washers.
3. Tighten the slip joint nuts with slip joint pliers or an adjustable wrench.
1. If you are installing a toilet, place a toilet flange over the stub out.
2. Secure the toilet flange to the subfloor with screws.
1. Turn on the water supply to the sink.
2. Check for any leaks around the connections.
3. If you find any leaks, tighten the slip joint nuts or couplings until the leak stops.
