How to Make an Anthropologie-Inspired Laundry Hamper

### Materials

- One large wicker basket (at least 20 inches in diameter)

- Fabric of choice (enough to line the basket and make a drawstring)

- Coordinating thread

- Scissors

- Measuring tape

- Seam ripper

- Iron

Instructions

1. Measure the inside of your basket and cut two rectangles of fabric, one for the liner and one for the drawstring. The liner should be the same size as the inside of the basket, plus 1 inch for seam allowances. The drawstring should be 2 inches wide by 36 inches long.

2. Sew the side seams of the liner together, using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Turn the liner right side out and press flat.

3. Fold the top edge of the liner down 1 inch and press. Stitch in place.

4. Cut a piece of scrap fabric 1 inch wide by 36 inches long. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise and press flat. Stitch the long edges together, using a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Turn the fabric right side out and set aside.

5. Place the liner inside the basket, wrong side out. Center the fabric in the basket and smooth out the wrinkles.

6. Insert the drawstring through the casing, leaving about 6 inches of fabric on each side.

7. Tie the ends of the drawstring together in a knot.

8. Trim any excess fabric from the liner.

9. Enjoy your new Anthropologie-inspired laundry hamper!

Tips

- Choose a fabric that is durable and easy to clean.

- If you want a more structured hamper, you can add interfacing to the liner.

- You can also add embellishments to the hamper, such as ribbon, lace, or appliques.
