How to Turn a Suede Jacket Into Crossbody Bag

## How to Turn a Suede Jacket Into Crossbody Bag

Step 1: Gather your materials.

* Suede jacket

* Scissors

* Seam ripper

* Sewing machine

* Thread

* Polyester batting (optional)

* Leather strap

* Rivets or snaps

Step 2: Prepare the jacket.

1. Turn the jacket inside out.

2. Cut off the sleeves and collar.

3. Use a seam ripper to remove the lining from the jacket.

Step 3: Add batting (optional).

If you want your bag to be more structured, you can add a layer of polyester batting between the suede and the lining. To do this, cut the batting to the same size as the jacket body. Then, place the batting between the suede and the lining, and sew it in place.

Step 4: Sew the bag together.

1. With right sides together, sew the jacket body to the lining along the side seams and bottom edge.

2. Leave a 4-inch (10-cm) opening in one of the side seams for turning.

3. Clip the corners and turn the bag right side out.

4. Press the bag flat.

Step 5: Add the strap.

1. Measure the length you want the strap to be.

2. Cut a piece of leather that is the desired length plus 2 inches (5 cm).

3. Fold the ends of the leather strap 1 inch (2.5 cm) over and sew them in place.

4. Attach the strap to the bag by riveting or snapping it in place.

Step 6: Enjoy your new crossbody bag!

Your new crossbody bag is perfect for a night out on the town or a day of running errands. It's stylish, versatile, and easy to make.
