* baking soda
* hydrogen peroxide
* water
* bucket
* sponge
* soft-bristled brush
Instructions:
1. Test the solution. Before applying this cleaning solution to your travertine tile, test an inconspicuous spot to make sure it does not damage the material.
2. Prepare your cleaning solution. In a bucket, mix 3 parts baking soda with 1 part hydrogen peroxide and a small amount of water. Add enough water to create a paste consistency.
3. Apply the cleaning solution. Use the sponge to apply the cleaning solution to a small section of the tile at a time. Scrub the tile in a circular motion with a soft-bristled brush.
4. Rinse the tile. Use the sponge to rinse the cleaning solution off the tile. Be sure to rinse the tile thoroughly to remove any remaining solution.
5. Dry the tile. Use a clean towel to dry the tile.
If the algae stains persist, you can repeat the cleaning process. Be sure to test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous spot before applying it to the entire tile.
