Pizookie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that combines the flavors of a chocolate chip cookie and a pizza. It's perfect for a party or a quick treat.
* 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
* 1/2 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 egg
* 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
* 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
* Ice cream, for serving
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in the vanilla and egg.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
4. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
6. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. Serve the pizookies warm with your favorite ice cream.
* For a richer pizookie, use dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet.
* Add some chopped nuts or dried fruit to the dough for extra flavor.
* If you don't have a pizza baking stone, you can bake the pizookie on a regular baking sheet. Just be sure to grease the sheet well so the cookies don't stick.
* Pizookie is best served warm and fresh, but it can also be made ahead of time and reheated in the microwave or oven.
