Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined and well incorporated.
3. Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.
4. In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of ketchup and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Brush the mixture over the meatloaf.
5. Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the loaf registers 160°F (70°C). If you want a crisp outer crust, feel free to increase the oven temperature to 400-425°F (204-218°C) during the last 10 minutes of baking time.
6. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
7. Enjoy your homemade meatloaf with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, and gravy!
